Menurut Doktor Fara Izzati Yusoff, rumah mewah jenis kluster di sebuah kawasan elit di Johor Bahru ini dimiliki dan disusun atur bukan sekaligus.

“Saya dan suami beli rumah ni kerana kami ditawarkan harga yang begitu baik dari pemaju. Zero down payment, free legal fees, diskaun untuk Bumiputera, rebat tunai, free 1 year maintenance fee dan baucar IKEA yang membolehkan saya mendekorasi rumah!” katanya.

Bila melihat dekorasi rumah mewah ini juga, Dr. Fara banyak berkongsi tips untuk berbelanja dengan lebih bijak.

“Saya tak banyak menabung, tapi we had a really good deals. Dengan rebat tunai, kami belanjakan untuk renovasi rumah. Duit simpanan lama dan hasil dari locum di klinik saya gunakan untuk membeli barangan dekorasi dan perabot.” katanya.

Dalam perkongsian di Instagramnya juga beliau tidak lokek dengan tips membeli barangan perabot mewah tetapi pada harga berpatutan.

Begitu juga beliau berkongsi tips untuk dekorasi rumah. Walaupun beliau seorang doktor, tetapi taste dalam dekorasi ada class tersendiri!

Home renovation can be such a headache unless if you have a lot of money to hire an interior designer for the whole process. I had to arrange everything from A to Z since I partly used ID for the carpentry,wainscoting and plaster ceiling works, my husband's contractor for painting,extension & wiring works and Ikea for my kitchen reno. Here's are few steps you can follow if you would like to install Ikea kitchen cabinets: #Step 1: Browse Ikea catalog and showroom. I spent a lot of time pouring through every page of Ikea kitchen catalog and browsing though Pinterest on the type of kitchen I wanted. I also had numerous trips to Ikea; walked through all the model kitchens and playing with the drawers,looking at the sinks and countertops just to get a sense of the type of features I like. #Step 2: Schedule Ikea kitchen measuring service. After I knew what I wanted, I started the whole process by scheduling a measuring service. It costs RM80 for me to have one of their certified reps to take the exact measurement of my kitchen. (Even though you can still measure yourself, but for the sake of Rm80, I won't put my whole kitchen at risk of not having enough space to install the cabinets because of wrong measurement). . #Step 3: Book a kitchen appointment at their website and start designing the kitchen layout with the Ikea kitchen designer. You can skip this step if you know how to work with their apps online. But I found it very complicated and just don't know how to start. The kitchen designer knows which cabinets will fit in to your measured space and which drawers are suitable since they have limited cabinet sizes. They will give you several layouts that suits your space and budget. This step is not going to be done in just one appointment as the time slot for each customer is 2hours. I had almost 10visits to Ikea just for this kitchen designing part (considering how fussy I am), but you really have to be patient in this designing part. #Step 4: Place order and book installation date with the Ikea kitchen contractor. Once I've finalized my kitchen design and the type of cabinets, drawers,shelves,sink and countertop that I want, I placed an order and delivery..Cont

Tip untuk dekorasi rumah dengan anak kecil

“Paling susah nak maintain dekorasi rumah bila anak-anak masih kecil. Untuk anak saya yang berusia 5 tahun, memang tak ada masalah tetapi adiknya baru setahun lebih. Jadi, saya akan bawa si kecil ke tingkat 2 di mana tiada dekorasi barangan mudah pecah.

Walau apa pun, kids will be kids. Jika kita ajar mereka sedikit demi sedikit apa yang boleh dan apa yang tidak, mereka pasti akan tahu apa yang boleh di bawa bermain dan apa yang tidak!”ujar Dr Fara.
